Heart Babies

It is a small world. My husband's cousin just a had a baby Thursday in St George (Utah). Friday, the pediatrician heard a heart murmur. Ordered more testing, and ultimately they lifeflighted their little one up to Primary Children's in Salt Lake City. He has Totally Anamolous Pulmonary Venous Return. The artery returning from the lungs to the heart is connected on the wrong side of the heart. He will have surgery Tuesday to repair it. We went to see them Saturday night and took them dinner. Mom and Dad are doing well, but they are heading into the worst of it soon. Please pray for baby Jacob.

Really? I hope they are doing well dealing with this news. I am certain they find comfort in knowing that you guys are going through very similar things.

Hi! Welcome to the James Family's blog. We are a family of six; Daddy Adam, Mommy Carinne, Big Sister Taylor(8), Big Brother Jonathan (5), Asher (2), and Baby Jacob (16 months). This blog chronicles our day to day craziness, and our journey with little Asher. Asher was born April 29th, 2010 with a complex congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's. This means he has 2 holes in his heart, his pulmonary artery is not connected to his heart and is very narrow, and he has extra abnormal arteries supplying blood flow to his lungs. At 4 weeks old he underwent his first open heart surgery for a central shunt. September 27th 2010 he had his second open heart surgery, a complete unifocalization which was done in Stanford, California (a 12 hour procedure). September 26th, 2011, Asher had his 3rd open heart surgery, to replace the homograft pulmonary valve and conduit placed in Stanford with a porcine valve and conduit.
